About SurgNet

Built by clinicians, for clinicians

A simpler way to match surgeons with surgical assistants, made by people who lived the problem.

Why we built it

SurgNet was created by a GP and a surgeon who both struggled, again and again, to find a good match between surgeons who need an assistant and the assistants ready to step in. We worked on the idea for a while, and we believe that with the right technology and tools, this can be made much better.

Who SurgNet is for

SurgNet is for surgeons who need cover, and for the whole team who can provide it: qualified surgical assistants, and GPs who are interested in surgical assisting or want to polish skills like skin surgery. It's especially valuable in regional and rural Australia, where surgeons often struggle to find an assistant at all. SurgNet exists to connect the right people, wherever they are.

Just the match, nothing in the way

Other platforms tend to get tangled up in billing and a lot of unnecessary extras. We wanted the opposite. SurgNet is deliberately simple: think of it as a marketplace, a "Tinder" for surgical assisting, where surgeons post their lists and assistants browse and join. Everything else is handled elsewhere, the way it already works for you.

Where this is heading

SurgNet is one product from a small health-tech company, built right here in Melbourne, Australia. A site with more about who we are and what else we are building is coming soon.
